College and Career Planning Resources
You play a vital role in helping your students plan for their futures! They may have many questions to consider before deciding their career paths. We strive to help by sponsoring a comprehensive Web site, SC Personal Pathways to Success, which provides free access to valuable college and career planning resources. We also publish Are You Ready?, a college-planning guide, for your students.
SC Personal Pathways to Success
We are a proud sponsor of SC Personal Pathways to Success, a comprehensive site which empowers youth and adults by making education relevant to their aspirations and abilities, promising a better economy and quality of life for everyone in South Carolina.
The new SC College and Career Planning System can be accessed through this site and provides the following information:
- Students can learn how to effectively plan for education and career success, take a career assessment, access individual graduation plans, explore and save college, scholarship, and career options, and more! The only requirement is a special code from a guidance counselor before registering online.
- Parents can learn how to get more involved in the college and career planning process.
- Administrators, counselors, and educators can access database management options, build electronic individual graduation plans, and communicate directly with students and parents!
Are You Ready?
Are You Ready? is a guide to assist your students in identifying the key issues they should be considering as they move through high school towards the goal of a college education. Tips for preparing for college are organized by year in high school and are subdivided on a month by month basis. Information on financial aid, including scholarships, grants and student loans, is also included.
